Warning to West Berks residents after series of fires in the heat

The first occurred in Aldern Bridge shortly after 2pm, in which a fire on a strip of land, at around two acres, was extinguished by fire crews from Newbury and Basingstoke.
It took around two hours to extinguish the blaze.
The incident prompted a warning from watch manager Phil Knight for people to take more care in the hot weather.
In the early hours of this morning (Sun) crews at Newbury Fire Station were alerted to a group of conifer trees on fire in the carpark of Cutting Edge Fabrics on Newtown Road.
Crew manager Mike Wilson said that crews attended at 3:30am and spent around 40 minutes killing the fire, and added that the fire had been logged as accidental.
No-one was injured in the incidents.
