Wasing Estate applies for new premises license

Wasing Leisure Limited has applied to West Berkshire Council for a new premises license on land and buildings at the Wasing Park estate.

The new license requests permission to host plays, films, live music, recorded music, dance performances and similar events on the estate — already an established wedding venue — between 9am and 12am.

The application also seeks permission to provide late night refreshments from 11pm to 3am and to supply alcohol (on and off sales) between 7am and 3.30am.

Brimpton Parish Council recently consulted Wasing Estate CEO, Andrew Perkins, for more information on the new licence application.

The council said Mr Perkins explained the estate already has a licence for 25 events per year at The Mount and that the new licence requests permission for 50 events a year.

The new license would replace any temporary licences, which do not have the same requirements for noise plans, environmental health and health and safety.

The parish council has not currently raised any objections.

The closing date for comments on the application is Friday, March 24.
