Watch: The Newbury Christmas light switch on festivities
Things got festive last night (Saturday) with the switch on of the Newbury Christmas lights.
The Newbury BID (Business Improvement District) put together a non-stop show from 10am to 9pm with thousands of people popping down to get in on the festive cheer.
Santa’s grotto was open in Parkway, while Disney princesses graced the grounds of Barry Forkin-Toomers in Bartholomew Street; even the Grinch came along.
Stilt-walking candy canes took to the streets, handing out sweets to boys and girls.
Newbury BID CEO Melissa Hughes said: “It’s so nice to see so many families out enjoying themselves and having a great time."
