Severe weather help for rough sleepers

West Berkshire Council has activated the severe weather emergency protocol to (SWEP) help rough sleepers in the district.

It means they can access water and shelter during the heatwave.

The council has a team on the lookout for anyone sleeping rough, but also wants the public to let them know if they spot anyone.

They should contact the housing service on 01635 519530 or visit the council offices in Market Street.

The SWEP is likely to be in force all week.
