Water for the Hungerford area comes from underground bore holes feeding the River Kennet, the world-renowned chalk stream.
It is recognised that taking water from the Kennet has the potential to put strain on the wildlife habitats the river supports.
Charlotte Hitchmough, director of Action for the River Kennet (ARK), said:
“There simply is no excuse not to take advantage of Waterwisely's offer of water-saving gadgets - they are completely free and could reduce your utility bills by up to £75 a year. By using less water each of us can reduce the strain on the River Kennet.”
