Watermill Theatre raises funds from baking challenge
Every Friday for 13 weeks, a member of staff produced their best show-stopping cake in a competition to find the best.
Donations were collected and the winner, box office assistant Julie Stockwell, who baked a toffee apple cake, chose to donate the money raised to the Salvation Army.
She said: “I think it’s a great charity to support.
"They do an amazing job helping people facing difficulties.”
The money was presented to Major Barbara Warner,of the Salvation Army’Newbury branch.
She said: “We’re very grateful to the staff at the Watermill for this donation.
"It helps us to fulfil our mission and continue the work the Salvation Army does.”
The Watermill staff haven’t put their aprons away yet.
Their next Bake Off challenge is to produce a show-stopping savoury snack.
