Swift Group shareholder dies following motorcycle accident on Friday
A WELL-KNOWN Newbury businessman died in a fatal road traffic accident late yesterday evening (Friday).
Steven Huntley, aged 47, a major shareholder in the Newbury-based Swift Group of Companies, died following a motorcycle accident on the Great Shefford Road.
Details of the accident have yet to be released by police, however Mr Huntley's family made the following statement today (Saturday).
“It is with great sadness that we must announce the death of our beloved father, partner, brother, uncle and son.
“Steven died yesterday (Friday) from injuries sustained in a motorcycle incident on the Great Shefford Road.
“Steve was a vivacious character whose generosity of spirit touched the lives of all those who came into contact with him.
“Steven was a major shareholder in Swift Group of Companies, the express courier and logisitics company whose head office has been based in Newbury for 22 years.
“Steve will leave a huge whole in many lives not least his partner Louise, children Zoe, Jay, Lee, Jake and Alfie, sister Debbie, mother Joan and nephews Martin, Danny and Chrissy."
