We're off to the Paralympics!

The Bruce Trust is off on the trip of a lifetime.
One of the charity’s specially adapted canal boats, Diana, is on its way along the Kennet and Avon Canal, up the River Thames, to the Paralympics in London.
It will be moored just a wheelchair ride away from the Olympic Stadium, and will provide accommodation for 100 disabled people over the ten days of the Paralympics.
Chairman of the charity, which provides waterborne holidays for disabled people, David Bruce, said: “It will be a unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for disabled people to see the Olympic Stadium”.
Mr Bruce has also arranged special tickets for local disabled people after contacting games chief Lord Coe for help.
Members of Hungerford Rotary Club crewed Diana on the initial leg of its long journey.
After a grand send-off at Great Bedwyn wharf on Saturday they brought the boat safely to Hungerford wharf, where they were met by town mayor Martin Crane, his wife Virginia, vice president of Hungerford Rotary Club Annabel King and Mr Bruce and his family.
On Sunday, Newbury Rotary Club crewed the vessel from Hungerford to West Mills, Newbury, where she was welcomed by town mayor Arthur Johnson.
On Tuesday Diana was crewed by Thatcham Rotary Club and yesterday (Wednesday) she was due to leave Burghfield to join the Thames at Reading for the journey to Limehouse and then on to the Olympic Stadium for the Paralympics opening ceremony next Wednesday, August 29.
The Diana’s mooring will be the nearest canal location to stadium. Bruce Trust volunteers will man the boat throughout the Games and a wide range of charities for disabled people have been invited to apply for low cost accommodation and entry tickets to the Paralympics.
Mr Bruce said: “The Diana is fully equipped and accessible for disabled visitors and we are only a few minutes wheelchair ride away from the main Olympic Stadium. This is a wonderful opportunity, thanks entirely to members of Hungerford, Newbury and Thatcham Rotary Clubs, to provide day trips to local groups of people with special needs from West Berkshire, enabling them to experience cruising along the Kennet and Avon Canal.”
