West Berkshire commemorates Remembrance Sunday today
This year's remembrance and armistice parades will mark 95 years since the end of the First World War, with next August commemorating the centenary of Britain entering the conflict.

Parade schedules and services across the district are as follows:
The parade will step off from the Royal British Legion building in Pelican Lane at 10.25am.
The parade will then march through the town to arrive in the Market Place, where the service will be held starting at 10.55am.
This will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial by St Nicolas Church.
From 10.30am. The parade will march from the Kingsland Centre Care car park to a service at the war memorial, in Bath Road, and then to St Mary’s church for a service.
10.35am parade leaves Acland Hall and continues along Hermitage Road and Cold Ash Hill to St Marks church. Remembrance and wreath laying between 10.45am and 11.05am in the front grounds of the church, followed by church service from 11.10am to 11.40am.
9.30am service at St Lawrence’s church, followed by 10.30am Act of Remembrance at the war memorial on Bridge Street. Display of vintage military vehicles in Hungerford Arcade in aid of the Poppy Appeal, with window display in memory of the fallen .
A parade will march down the high street at 9.45am to holy Trinity Church for a service at 10.10am. This will be followed by a reading of the names on the war memorial and the last post at around 10.50am. After the two minutes silence at 11am, tea will be served at Theale Primary School.
Burghfield will hold a holy communion at 9am in St Mary's Church followed by a civic service at 10.30am. The service will begin with the laying of wreaths at the war memorial then mark the two minutes silence before retiring to the church.
2.30pm, assemble at Tadley Primary School, The Green. 2.50pm parade departs. 3pm church service at St Paul’s church, The Green, followed by laying of wreaths at war memorial outside the church
Parade assembles in Swan Street at 10.30am, making its way to the war memorial outside St Mary’s church for 11am for one minutes’ silence and wreath laying and prior to church service.
10.45am parade departs Heath End Village Hall. 11am service at Baughurst war memorial and laying of wreaths
10.50am Remembrance service and wreath laying at war memorial on Silchester Common
10.55am service, lasting approx one hour at (inside) St Michael and All Angels church, followed by laying of wreaths and poppies outside the church.
10.50am assemble at war memorial outside the Church of the Ascension for wreath laying, followed by 11.15am church service
