West Berkshire Council encouraging people to get involved with Keep Britain Tidy's Great British Spring Clean campaign

West Berkshire Council is encouraging people to pledge to pick up one bag of litter for a mass campaign that aims to tidy up the country.

The Great British Spring Clean, which runs until Sunday, April 10, calls on everyone to join forces and pick up litter from local areas in order to protect communities and wildlife.

Organised by charity Keep Britain Tidy, over 220,000 bags of litter have already been pledged as part of the project, which is now entering its seventh year. More info on how to get involved can be seen here https://bit.ly/3tRbV8E

West Berkshire Council's executive member for the environment Steve Ardagh-Walter (Con, Thatcham Colthrop and Crookham) said: “West Berkshire is a beautiful place to live, work and enjoy. We are all so fortunate to have an abundance of green space and countryside at our disposal.

“Which is why it is such a shame to see the inconsiderate actions of litterers detracting from this. I would like to ask those able to step up and take on the Big Bag Challenge during this year’s Great British Spring Clean to help us clear up the mess left behind by careless litterers.”
