West Berkshire does the Olympic Torch Relay proud
The celebrations began in the morning at Theale, where the cavalcade accompanying the torch was greeted by hundreds of well-wishers in the High Street.
Next stop was Thatcham where a sea of flag-waving residents, including hundreds of children out of school especially for the historic occasion, met the relay team.
Sports journalist and television presenter Clare Balding carried the flame the length of Northbrook Street in Newbury where crowds up to 10 deep lined the pavements to see the spectacle. And there were yet more waiting as it moved onto towards its final stopping off point at Pinchington Lane.
