West Berkshire events for Halloween half term

The centre will be hosting a Green Hallowe’en Day, a free drop-in event with family entertainment, games, and wildlife-themed crafts to make and take home, between 11am and 3pm on Friday, October 31.
Children can win prizes for the scariest, prettiest and most creative costume and can also hunt for creepy crawlies and learn where they hibernate during winter on a spooky stroll around the lake – but watch out, as hidden Hallowe’en characters will be lurking along the route.
The green theme of the Hallowe’en event will also include finding out how rubbish can be transformed into seasonal decorations and how renewable energy works.

The Big Draw and Family Arts Festival returns to West Berkshire Museum over the October half term.
The theme of this year’s Big Draw is It’s Our World, with the spotlight on UK wildlife and the reasons some are under threat.
Participants will draw their favourite endangered British wildlife on fabric squares, to be displayed in the museum’s Cloth Hall.
Fact sheets will be available on some of the endangered UK wildlife and examples of some of the animals from the museum’s natural history collection will be available to view, with chance make a woodland animal mask to take home.
The free of charge activities are aimed at 4 to 11 year olds, but younger and older children are welcome. Under 15s must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the museum is also free of charge.
Drop in between 10am and 3pm on Thursday/Friday October 30/31.
