West Berkshire will play host to more than 800 Ukrainian refugees.
More than 300 are already in the district, with another 500 waiting in the pipeline.
Of those already placed with 195 hosts, 187 are children and there are 264 adults.
Around 80 per cent are women, and so far, West Berkshire Council has placed 100 children in schools.
The council is also working with Newbury’s EduCafe to provide language lessons for the Ukrainian, Afghan and Hong Kong children who have arrived in the district recently.
The council says it is in the top five local authorities in England in terms of numbers of sponsor hosts.
