West Berkshire is in top 10 for council tax value
West Berkshire is in the top 10 districts that give the best return on council tax, figures reveal.
Two of the top 10 English districts are in Berkshire, with value scores averaging 4.60/10.
Windsor and Maidenhead ranks at number three, with West Berkshire at number eight.
Greater London sees five of its districts in the top 10, averaging scores of 5.02/10.
As the cost of living spirals, the council tax rebate scheme was introduced to lift some of the burden.
Data mining by Money.co.uk dug up a variety of council services, including fire service response time, recycling levels, road conditions, crime rate, percentage of good or outstanding schools and care homes, to reveal in which district council tax goes the furthest.
West Berkshire scored high on road maintenance compared to other councils and was the highest scorer on social care. It scored well for low crime rate.
The worst value for council tax was Great Yarmouth.
