West Berkshire man prepares to take on Kilt Walk

Fraser Crumlish will walk 60 miles wearing a kilt to raise money for Naomi House Children's Hospice

A WEST Berkshire man is preparing to walk 60 miles in two days wearing a kilt to raise money for Naomi House Children's Hospice.

Fraser Crumlish, an office manager for Newbury estate agents Downer & Co, is taking part in the Kilt Walk from Bath to Thatcham over the last weekend of May alongside his friend and fellow Scotsman, Jim Finlay.

The walk will see a group of walkers tackle the route in two stints, from Bath to Pewsey on day one and from Pewsey to Thatcham on day two, all of which is to raise money for Naomi House, which provides support to children and young adults with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Last year, a group of walkers raised more than £3,500 by walking from Pewsey to Thatcham and Mr Crumlish, who describes himself as “one of the unfittest people imaginable”, said he has set himself a personal target of £2,000.

He said: “I have never entered a gym in my life and up until recently I didn't even own a pair of trainers!

“However, I am now on board and if I am going to walk this far, I want it to be worthwhile.”
