List of West Berkshire schools closed over weather warning




Schools across West Berkshire are taking precautions as temperatures are set to peak on Monday (July 18) and Tuesday (July 19).

An amber weather warning, issued by the Met Office last week, has been extended throughout both Monday and Tuesday.

A red weather warning has also been issued for other parts of the UK.

Here is a list of the school closures, early closing times and uniform amendments for Monday and Tuesday.

The Willows Primary School, Newbury

The Willows Primary School will be closed to all pupils on July 18 (Monday).

Calcot Infant School and Nursery, Calcot

Calcot Infant School and Nursery has announced that its nursery will be closed on both July 18 (Monday) and July 19 (Tuesday).

Its infant school will be open at 8am for the infant children and parents are invited to collect from 12.15pm.

The school will remain open until 3pm for those that are unable to collect earlier.

Calcot Junior School, Calcot

The school will open at 8am on on both July 18 (Monday) and July 19 (Tuesday).

Parents are invited to collect pupils from 12.15pm.

The school will remain open until 3pm for those that are unable to collect earlier.

St Bartholomew's, Newbury

The school has announced, via a letter sent out to parents, that it will close at 12.10pm on Monday (July 18).

Work will be set for pupils to finish the day remotely.

Pupils are allowed to wear their PE kits.

Streatley Church of England Voluntary Controlled School, Streatley

The school has said due to the forecast conditions on both Monday (July 18) and Tuesday (July 19) parents can collect children if they are concerned from 11.45am.

The school will remain open until 3pm as normal.

Denefield School

The school will move to remote learning from 12.20pm on Monday (July 18).
