Westie walk a hit for West Berkshire Mencap

The event was organised by the chief executive of West Berkshire Mencap and fellow Westie owner, Leila Ferguson, whose pooch Snowy works as a therapy dog for the charity.
She said the morning was enjoyed by dog walkers and their four-legged friends alike, with people travelling from as far as Oxford to join in, and helped to raise awareness and just under £100 for West Berkshire Mencap.
The walk also served as a reunion for two 13-week-old Westie sisters, one now living in Newbury and one in Whitchurch, who discovered each other on the walk.
“The day went spectacularly and everyone asked for it to be held annually,” added Mrs Ferguson. “It was a super turnout with a mixture of people, young and old, local and neighboring, showing up.”
The wheels are now in motion to make this an annual event.
