Greenham Common Decontamination Centre open days, Friday and Saturday, 11am to 4pm, free.
A rare chance to visit the decontamination area of Building 274, part of the old Greenham Air Base.
Saturday
Newbury Town Hall open day, Market Place, 10am to 2pm, free.
The public are invited to view the council chamber, civic staircase, the town hall portraits, the council’s maces and other civic regalia.
Newbury Real Ale Festival, Northcroft Fields, 12pm until late, £23 advance and £30 on the door.
Over 200 ales and ciders on offer at this annual beer festival with bands performing live music throughout the day.
Cold Ash Gardening Club summer show, Acland Hall, Cold Ash, 2pm to 4pm, free.
This show will have the usual classes of vegetable collections, vegetables, fruit, flowers, homecraft, photography and juniors.
Shaw-cum-Donnington Gardening Club show, The Village Hall, Love Lane, 2pm to 4pm, free.
There will be a plant sale and refreshments alongside the show.
Sunday
Hungerford Heritage Festival, Croft Field, 10am to 3pm, free.
The festival will feature a living history kitchen, ferret racing, willow weaving, stalls, street food, a bar and live music.
Newbury Lions duck race, Newbury Lock, 2.30pm, £1 per duck.
First prize £100, second is £75 and third is £25.
Wednesday
Berkshire Family History Society meeting, West Berkshire Museum, 2pm to 4pm, £5.
Jonathan Hopson delivers a talk on the history of the Camp and Hopson families from 1851 to the present day Camp Hopson department store.
Archaeology talk, Sutton Hall, Stockcross, 2pm, £5.
‘Archaeological Finds, How to Report and Record Them’ a talk by Dr Philip Smither, the Berkshire finds liaison officer with West Berkshire Council and the West Berkshire Museum.
Thursday
Charity coffee morning, St Nicolas Church Hall, 10am to 12pm.
Supporting local charity Young People and Children First which supports care leavers and young homeless people in West Berkshire.
Veteran and vintage Renaults, Greenham Common Control Tower, 10.30am to 11.30am, free.
Renault Freres is a club for Renaults built before 1940 and they have a rally on Thursday. There will be cars from 1905 through to the 1930s.
