Saturday

Spring bulb planting, The Nightingales, 10am to 1pm, free.

Newbury Town Council are asking the community to come along and help to plant 3000 spring bulbs in Greenham. Volunteers should meet outside the Greenham Community Centre at 10am.

Mayor’s coffee morning, Town Hall, 10am to 12pm.

Fundraising event for the NWN Over 80s’ Parcel Fund. Cake and coffee or tea £2.

Newbury Rotary Club stall, Northbrook Street, 10am to 2pm.

At the stall you can enter the Santa Fun Run on November 26 and collect Santa suits. Raffle Tickets for the Christmas grand draw will be available and Newbury Cancer Care will be selling 2024 Calendars.

Hidden treasure antique valuation event, Renegade Brewery, 11am to 4pm, £10.

Bring your hidden treasures and have them valued by Dawsons experts. Up to three valuations per adult ticket plus 10 per cent off Renegade beer in the shop on the day. Ponies, human fruit machine and lawn games. All proceeds go to Educafe. Tickets available at https://rebrand.ly/mfjb5gw

Monday

Bradfield Historical Society talk, Bradfield Southend Cricket Club Pavilion, Heath Road, 7pm, £4.

Talk on Roman Silchester by Professor Michael Fulford, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Reading.

Tuesday

Dancing for diabetes, Falkland Grange Care Home, Monks Lane, 2.15pm to 3.30pm.

Professional dancer Katie Lewis will be performing an hour’s interactive dance show to suit seniors, including tap dance, rock and roll and ballroom. We will also be serving some diabetic friendly snacks and fundraising in aid of Diabetes UK.

Wednesday

Berkshire Family History Society meeting, West Berkshire Museum, 2pm to 4pm, £5.

Talk by Tim Green titled ‘Motoring History in West Berkshire’. Free to society members.

Newbury Yacht Club talk, Bowlers Arms, Wash Common, 7pm, £5.

Talk by Stokey Woodall on sailing 300,000 miles and navigation by frying pan. Free to club members.

Thursday

Careers fair, Newbury Rugby Club, 10am to 12.30pm, free.

Organised by Newbury Job Centre.
