Thursday

Welford Park snowdrops, until March 3, 11am to 4.30pm, adults £12 and children £5.

Come and see the swathes of snowdrops, hellebores, aconites and winter flowering shrubs. The snowdrops thrive among the 5-acre beech wood, on the banks of the River Lambourn and in the formal garden of Welford Park.

Friday

Thatcham mayor’s charity bingo night, Frank Hutchings Community Hall, 6.30pm, £10.

Mayor of Thatcham Mark Lillycrop is holding a fundraising bingo night in aid of his two chosen charities, Sport in Mind and PALS. BYOB.

Unplugged open mic night, ACE Space, 7pm, free.

Featuring an array of local musical, comedic and dramatic talent. Performances commence at 7.30pm. Performers sign up from 7pm or earlier.

Performance from local rock band The Station. Social will be in memory of beloved Newbury Pride member Jonny.

Disco, Royal British Legion, Pelican Lane, 8.30pm to 11pm.

Saturday

Library sale, Wash Common Library, Glendale Avenue, 10am to 12pm.

Ex-library stock and nearly new books including children's books, fiction and non-fiction. Help the library to raise money and cover operating costs.

Jumble sale, Padworth Village Hall, 2pm.

In aid of The Wessex Cancer Trust.

Sunday

Choral evensong, St Mary’s Church, Speen, 6pm.

Beautiful music followed by refreshments.

Tuesday

Kintbury Wildlife Group meeting, Coronation Hall, Inkpen Road, 7.30pm, £3.

Local author and ecologist Peter Marren presents ‘The names of butterflies and moths’ which will explore the folklore and science surrounding these treasured insects.

Wednesday

Newbury Yacht Club talk, Bowlers Arms, Wash Common, 7.15pm for 7.45pm start, £5.

Talk titled ‘A pillar of society? Admiral Lord Nelson: his loves and losses’ given by Cathy Shelbourne. Entry price refundable against £25 annual membership.
