Recognising international law and human rights. There will be a remembrance of all who have lost lives in Palestine and Lebanon, including peace keepers, aid workers, medical staff and journalists.

Saturday
Woolton Hill scarecrow trail, October 26 to November 3.
Buy a map from Woolton Hill shop, follow the trail to find the scarecrows and return your map to the shop for a sweet treat. Prize for the best scarecrow. Organised by the Friends of the Woolton Hill Schools.
Halloween family event, Kennet Centre, 12pm to 3pm, free.
Opening ceremony by the mayor of Newbury. Dressing up and colouring in competitions, free DJ lessons, face painting at McCann’s Coffee Shop and party music provided by DJ Hypester.
Autumn jumble sale, Portal Hall, Burghclere, 2pm to 4.30pm.
Teas, cakes, raffle, white elephant, good-as-new and lots more.

Have your say with the Newbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, Northbrook Street, 10am to 12pm and Newbury Retail Park, 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
Speak to local officers about any crime related issues you may have happening in your community that are causing you concern. The team will also be offering crime prevention advice.
Newbury and Thatcham repair café, Newbury Methodist Church Hall, 2pm to 4.30pm, free.
Bring your cherished and household items for free repairs. Last repair registration at 4 pm.

Thatcham Scarecrow Festival, October 28 to November 3
View the Parsons Down Partnership scarecrow trail filled with scarecrows made by local people and families.
Thursday
Parkway’s pumpkin patch, Parkway Shopping, 10.30am to 2.30pm, free.
Pick up your trail sheet, head around the centre to discover the password, head back over to the patch and tell them the password and you’ll be allowed in to pick your pumpkin. Those who hand their trail sheet in will be entered into a giveaway for a £50 gift card.
Halloween comedy night, Gourmet Pasta Co, Market Place, 7pm.
Enjoy puns with your pasta and Halloween hilarity with Smack the Pony star Fiona Allen and Justin Panks alongside MC Graeme Coulam.
