Apple pressing at Woolton Hill market
THE BIG village apple press returns to Woolton Hill village market today (Saturday), with crafts, a film festival and plenty of sports fixtures happening elsewhere, in and around Newbury.
Woolton Hill village market, from 10am to 1pm, at St Thomas’ Church Hall, includes the Big Village Apple Press, with chance to take along undamaged ripe fruit to turn into juice
At Newbury library is Cool Craft, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, a free drop-in session for over sevens.
Sports fans can choose from two hockey matches at Henwick, including Newbury ladies 11 versus Henley at 12.30pm, or Newbury ladies 1st versus Reading at 3.30pm.
For rugby fans, Newbury Blues take on Windsor at 3pm in Monks Lane, while football fans should head for Bulpit Lane, in Hungerford, for a 3pm National League South match between Hungerford Town, and Hampton and Richmond.
In Wash Common, the Ann Hoddinott Art Exhibition is from 10am to noon, at the New Era Theatre, St George’s Centre, Andover Road.
