What's on in West Berkshire and North Hampshire: Fire fighters charity car wash, Great British Spring Clean and Ukraine fundraisers




If you're looking for something to do this weekend, here are some suggestions.

Saturday 26

Woolton Hill market, Woolton Hill Village Hall, 10.30am-1pm. Seasonal fruit and veg, jewellery, plants, card, homeware and gardenware. Tea room with homemade cakes. Profits will go towards donation to charity of the year Loose Ends and tea room and raffle will be run in aid of the Dylan Rich Fund.

Car wash, Newbury Fire Station, 10am-4pm. Fundraiser for The Fire Fighters Charity. Suggested minimum donation £5.

Charity Barbecue and Raffle, 9 High Street Hungerford, 9am-2pm. Raffle tickets available from Christian Alba’s butchers and IT Guru’s Hungerford and Thatcham branches. Raising funds for Ukraine.

Newtown Road Cemetery Spring Welcome Day, 10am-4pm. Introductory tour 10.30am, nature wander 11.30am, medical matters tour 2pm. Wild flower display. Find-a-grave service. Free admission. Refreshments available.

Spring into Thatcham, High Street and The Broadway, 4pm-9.30pm. Market, street food, 80s-themed street party on a giant screen.

Thatcham Litter Pickers, Burdwood Centre, 10am-11am. Part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean. Parsons Down School taking part as part of their Eco School scheme. Equipment provided (but please bring your own if you have it) and all litter will be taken away for disposal or recycling.

Shaw-cum-Donnington community litter pick, meet The Castle Pub car park, 10am-12.30pm. Bring own gloves and high-vis clothing. Picks and bags provided. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Jumble sale, Padworth Village Hall, 2pm. In aid of St John the Baptist, Padworth.

Coffee and cake, St Mary’s Church, Bucklebury, 10am-noon. Enjoy the daffodils and some coffee and cake. Donations to the DEC Ukraine Appeal.

Sunday 27

TVP Rural Crime PCSO team toolmarking event, Brightwalton village hall car park, 10.30am-2pm. Bring along garden tools, such as power tools, mowers, streamers and chain saws. Free of charge. Also offering security advice.
