What's on in West Berkshire and North Hampshire: Newbury triathlon, Thatcham duck race and Silchester fete and dog show




If you're looking for some family entertainment this weekend, here is a selection of things to do and places to go.

Saturday

Have Your Say, outside Marks & Spencer, Northbrook Street, Newbury, 10am-noon. Meet the Newbury neighbourhood policing team and tell them about the issues that matter most to you.

Silchester Fete, Dog Show and Market, 11am-3.30pm. Arena displays, stalls, refreshments, children can have a go in the circus area.

Enborne & Hamstead Marshall Flower Show, Hazel Paddock, Church Lane, opposite Enborne School, 2pm-4pm. Stalls, band, refreshments, raffle and live band.

Jumble Sale, Padworth Village Hall, 2pm. In aid of Padworth Village Hall.

Thatcham WI Coffee morning, United Reformed Church hall, Church Lane, Thatcham, 10am-noon. Coffee and cake, children’s corner, tombola and stalls.

Sunday

Newbury Triathlon, Northcroft Leisure Centre, First wave 8.30am. Organised by Team Kennet. Spectators welcome. http://teamkennet.com/

Great Thatcham Duck Race, The Rowbarge, 10.45am. Raising funds for Time to Talk, West Berkshire.

Aldermaston & Wasing Show, The Old Mill, 1pm. Best dressed duck competition. Produce show, events, crafts, competitions and refreshments.

The traditional Procession and Blessing of the Lady Well, St Mary’s Church, Speen, 11.45am. Follows the 10.30am Patronal Service of Holy Communion at the church. Everyone is welcome, and there will refreshments afterwards in the Majendie Hall.

Cold Ash Brass, Victoria Park Bandstand, Newbury, 3pm-5pm.

Thursday

St Nicolas Thursday Charity Coffee morning, St Nicolas Church Hall, 10am-noon. Weekly coffee mornings for local charities and good causes. This week’s charity is Friends of Woolton Hill School.
