Canal & River Trust community open day, Victoria Park, 10am to 4pm.
An explorer team will be on hand to talk about water safety and volunteering experiences. Also an opportunity for people to come and build their own bird box (£5 suggested donation).
Burghfield round robin darts event, Burghfield Community Sports Association, 11am, £15.
Open to all players. Men, ladies and youth all in mixed groups on the day. Food will be available.
Beenham Village Market, Beenham Village Hall, 2pm to 3.30pm.
Quiz night, Wash Common Community Centre, 7.30pm, £7 per team.
Maximum five per team. 100 general knowledge questions. Raffle and refreshments available.
Monday
Illustrated talk on bumblebees, West Berks Indoor Bowling Club, 7.30pm, £3.
Given by bumblebee expert Adrian Doble. Put on by the Newbury National Trust supporters’ group.
Tuesday
Dinosaurs small group family art workshop, West Berkshire Museum, 10am to 12.30pm, £12.50 per child.
Learn to draw and paint dinosaurs. Suitable for age 7+. One accompanying adult is free.
Movie in the hall: Sherlock Gnomes, Shaw House, 10am.
The café will be open serving cinema sweets and treats. Adults £5 and children £3.
Wednesday
Family activity day, Shaw House, 10am to 3pm, £2.50 per child.
Decorate a ceramic star decoration with paint pens. Suitable for 4-11 year olds but younger and older children are welcome. No need to book, just drop in.
Thursday
Dino day, Kennet Shopping Centre, 1pm to 4pm.
Arts and crafts activities for children alongside real dinosaurs to see and pet.
