THE Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Jo Day, is attending a special event to mark 10 years since the launch of an ‘extra care’ housing scheme for older people in Newbury.
Local residents are invited to join in the celebrations at Audrey Needham on Saturday 6 December, where there will be a range of stalls on offer selling cakes, jewellery, bric a brac, a tombola and raffle.
The event will run from 10am to 12 noon, with all proceeds from the stalls donated to the local branch of the National Animal Welfare Trust.
Audrey Needham House, which is run by housing provider A2Dominion, is located at 29 Victoria Grove, Newbury, RG14 7RB.
The event is open to residents, staff and the local community, and there is no need to book as people can just pop in on the day.
People can raise any Thatcham issues they may have with councillors this weekend.Town mayor and Liberal Democrat town councillor Gary Johnson (Thatcham West) and West Berkshire councillor Roger Croft (Con, Thatcham South and Crookham), who is the council’s executive for housing and ICT, will be in The Broadway Green between 10am and noon on December 6.
Thatcham's Roller Disco slides back to the Kennet Leisure Centre on Saturday. The family session will run from 5pm until 6.15pm. Then from 6.30pm until 8pm the disco is open to all.
