THERE are plenty of events to keep everyone entertained in West Berkshire today (Sat).
Head on down to the Cold Ash summer fete which will feature a range of activities including a bouncy castle, tombolas and games, sandcastle making and much more.
There will also be performances from the Cold Ash Brass Youth Band, St Mark’s School Choir and the Trinity School Swing Band, Dance & Drama Performers Glee Club.
With glorious weather expected throughout the day, a range of refreshments will be on offer including a BBQ and bar, ice creams, candy floss and popcorn.
Meanwhile, a Newbury school is hosting its Family Fun Day this month and promises fun, games and activities for all the family.
St Joseph’s School will hold the afternoon event at its Newport Road school on Saturday June 20 between 11.30am and 2.30pm.
There will be face painting and a bouncy castle for kids, and plenty of entertainment for the rest of the family including a tombola, a tug of war, a fire engine, BBQ and “splat the rat”.
This year the Silchester fete and dog show will return with a superheroes and princesses theme.
The free event will take place from 12pm to 3.30pm in the playing field next to the new cricket pavilion with entertainment from the Shinfield Shambles Morris dancers and Silchester school country dancers, plus ferret racing with the Hants & Berks Ferret Club.
There will also be a display from the Mercedez Benz enthusiasts club, while kids will be kept entertained by Furry Foot the clown, a bouncy castle, children’s races, face painting and other traditional games.
Other entertainment on the day will be welly wanging and egg throwing competitions and a Tug of war
If sport is more your thing, Newbury will be hosting Falkland II in the cricket at Northcroft.
