What's on in West Berkshire today (Sun)

Looking for something to do in the district? We've compiled a list of ideas for you

THERE will be an apple extravaganza in Thatcham today as the town celebrates its annual apple day.

It will feature a celebration of all things relating to orchards and people can join in the festivities from 11am to 3pm at the Nature Discovery Centre. Entry is free, and organisers are claiming that this year’s event will be better than previous ones.

Try your hand juicing apples with the Thatcham Community Orchard Friends group and watch the Kennet Morris Men blessing the trees and the harvest.

You can also join in with activities, including the human fruit machine, traditional crafts, purchase local produce, learn about bees and how you can help wildlife.

Farm animals and birds of prey will also be displayed on the day.

Thatcham Apple Day is organised by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust in partnership with Thatcham Town Council and is part of the Thatcham Festival.

For more information about Apple Day please contact the Nature Discovery Centre on (01635) 874381 or ndc@bbowt.org.uk, visit www.bbowt.org.uk or find the Thatcham Community Orchard Friends group on Facebook.

There will be netball games taking place at Kennet School from 9.30am.
