What's on Saturday

A lot going on around the district today, starting in Thatcham with a charity football tournament to raise funds for West Berkshire Cruse Bereavement Care following the murder of Sandra Talman in Newbury in August.
There will be a number of local teams competing in the fundraiser and a mini tournament for children aged seven to ten.
Childrens tournament kicks off at 10am, adults at 1pm and there will be an array of activities on offer throughout the day at Thatcham Football Club.
The roller disco also skates back to the Kennet Leisure Centre from 5pm to 6.15pm for families and between 6.30pm and 8pm for all, admission priced at £3 including skate hire.
The Thatcham Neighbourhood Wardens will be holding their next swap shop in the Broadway Green throughout the day, collecting unwanted items.
In Compton the Swan pub will host mechanical horseracing and other family activities from 1pm as it launches the first annual Compton Races open to all the family.
There’s lots to sate your political appetite today, as well, as Thatcham town and West Berkshire district councillors will hold a “council surgery” ahead of the May 7 General Election.
The event to hear your views will take place at the Broadway between 10am and noon.
For the North West Hampshire parliamentary seat, candidates will also gather at Sandleford Springs Golf Club at 7.30pm for a public hustings debate.
