Cricket lovers spoilt for choice and bird watching stroll
BIRD watching along a gentle stroll, several cricket matches and a village market to browse are all among today's 'to do' list in Newbury and beyond
Newbury District Ornithological Club is hosting a visit to Speen Moors. Meet in Northcroft Leisure Centre car park at 8.30am (parking charges apply) for an easy gentle stroll. Morning only. All welcome but please ring (01488) 668482 in advance
Children can find summer holiday entertainment at 10.30am at Nick Cope’s Family Music, at Newbury Corn Exchange, in the Market Place. Age eight and under. Call the box office on 0845 5218218
More to occupy children can be found at Newbury Library in the Wharf this afternoon, with storytime for under fives and their carers, 2.30pm, Newbury Library. Free.

For a leisurely browse of stalls, fill shopping baskets with fresh local produce at Woolton Hill village market, from 10am to 1pm, at Woolton Hill Village Hall. Flower and produce show and special offer on pulled pork butties.
Cricket fans are spoilt for choice with several matches at 1pm including: Falkland II v Eversley II at Enborne Lodge; Newbury II v Windsor –Northcroft; Thatcham II v Cokoham Dean – Brownsfield and Hungerford II v Hartly Wintney – Memorial Ground – near footy ground.
Football fans should head for a 2.30pm match at Bulpit Lane, Hungerford Town versus Bristol City XI
