What's on Sunday
The streets of Hungerford are alive this afternoon with the sound of eating as the annual Hungerford Food Festival munches its way into the town.
Starting at 11.30 in the town centre the annual event promises more than 40 stores, cooking demonstrations and food aplenty.
There are also head chefs in attendance cooking up a storm of treats both home and away, including Gert Pienaar, Audley Inglewood and Ilja Jarvey.
For those with a more high velocity appetite there are two exhibitions for vehicle lovers today, with both modern and vintage vehicles here for public perusal.
Just across from Hungerford in nearby Wiltshire is the Shalbourne classic car show, which promises classic cars, vintage cycles, rides, stalls, and food and drink, from 12pm.
Admission is free for kids and £5 for everybody else.
Europe’s biggest 4x4 and vintage “autojumble” also comes to the Newbury Showground, with traders opening from 7am and the general public from 10am.
The vehicle swapshop promises vintage spares, farmyard memorabilia, ex-military vehicle parts and a wealth of new, used and bizarre motor parts for both collectors and bargain hunters.
The day is £25 per booking for traders and £6.50 admission for the general public.
For a more relaxing afternoon, The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel in Pangbourne will play host to prize-winning classical pianist Jeremy Carter who will be performing a selection of Beethoven, Brahms and Chopin.
The recital starts at 3pm and tickets are £6 per adult, and £3 per student.
