Leg stretchers, football match and children's party games among line-up

Scenic and sociable leg-stretchers, children's party games, music and an exciting football match are all in prospect today (Sunday) in the Newbury area and beyond.

Join the new A Walk for Parkinson’s, at Welford Park, a sponsored walk around the beautiful Welford Park Estate, home of the Great British Bake Off.

Alternatively, Newbury District Ornithological Club are spending a morning on Greenham Common looking for spring migratory wildlife. Meet by the control tower off Bury’s Bank Road at 8am. All welcome but please ring 07796 605016 in advance. Grid ref 174/499652.

More fresh air and sociable exercise is to be had by joining the Beating the Bounds of Newbury-South. Starting at Newbury Town Hall at 1 pm. Approx 7 miles, led by local historian, Dave Stubbs. Finish at Newbury Town Hall with refreshments.

Sports fans can enjoy the Newbury FC bowl final, at the club's Faraday Road grounds, from 12pm, Castle V Parklife Rovers, weather permitting.

For children's fun and entertainment, Pets at Home, in Faraday Road, Newbury, are hosting partytime free workshops and games between 2pm and 2.30pm today.
