Lots to do this Sunday across West Berkshire.

Prepare to walk the plank as the annual Waterways Festival shores up at Newbury’s Victoria Park.

This year’s theme – Pirates of the Kennet and Avon Canal, will see a flotilla of pirate themed crafts congregating at Newbury for an afternoon of entertainment.

The park will host a range of stalls and live entertainment from The Kevin O’Regan Band before concluding with a duck race.

Everyone is welcome to the free event which takes place between 10am and 5pm on Sunday, with the official opening at 11am.

Boys beating cancer, first created in 2006, kicks off at Newbury Showground again today for a 5km and 10km charity run for men raising money for cancer.

Racers should arrive from 9.30am ahead of the main event at 11.30am.

There is also a charity cycle ride to raise money for the new pavilion at Falkland Cricket Club from 10am.

Registration is £25 and for more details contact nigel.trumper@nolimits-sports.co.u28

For racing fans the Dubai International Arabian Raceday is on at Newbury Racecourse from noon. Entry is free.
