15,000 people are expected to attend the free to enter event at the Racecourse Newbury that will see a host of high stakes races on which all the family can take a punt.
For the more motorised speedsters Newbury College will also be playing host to a wealth of classic cars today as the Classic Vehicle Show hits the town for its 22 annual appearance.
Last year the event which welcomed local residents, visitors and motor enthusiasts from all over the country, had over 1000 exhibits on display and 4000 visitors.
Steve Long of Newbury College, Monks Lane, said they are “delighted” to be providing the venue for the car show which raised a record £12,000 last year for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
A special sermon will also be held at St Nicholas’ Church in Newbury this morning featuring Israeli Palestinian Salim Munayer who runs a youth reconciliation group in Israel in an effort to reconcile the two groups.
The Director of Musalaha, a group that aims to reconcile the two factions in the contentious region, will host the service which begins at 10am and is expected to finish 11.15am.

For a more relaxed afternoon the Nonsuch Dulcimer Club will be performing at Victoria Park bandstand today between 3pm and 5pm for anyone interested in the unique sound of hammered, or mountain dulcimers.
