Camp Hopson fashion show in aid of Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust, Josephs Restaurant, Camp Hopson, Newbury, starts at 6pm with the show at 6.30pm. As well as the latest fashions, there will be a cosmetic demo from Laura Mercier and a raffle for Camp Hopson gift vouchers.
West Berkshire Ramblers, meet in the National Trust car park at Uffington Hill, grid ref SU293866, 10am. The car park is free for NT members, but there is a £5 all-day charge for non-members. There is a small, free car parking area further up the hill and round to the left, near the cattle grid below Uffington Castle. The walk is via the Ridgeway, Wayland's Smithy, Odstone Farm, Compton Beauchamp, Woolstone, Britchcombe Farm, Whitehorse Hill and Uffington Castle. There will be a pub stop at The White Horse in Woolstone just over half way round, or bring your own picnic lunch. Flour Milling Demonstrations, Winchester City Mill, Bridge Street, Winchester, 2pm to 4pm (gates open 10.30am). A National Trust Event: Volunteer millers will run this historic watermill in the heart of Winchester and show visitors how traditional stoneground flour is made using only the renewable energy from the River Itchen. The wholemeal flour, milled from English wheat, is ideal for making bread and can be bought in the mill shop. Children's activities including hand milling and film of visiting otters.
