The Ukrainian Boyan Ensemble of Kiev, St Lawrence's Church, Hungerford, 7.30pm. A cappella male choir. Newbury Symphony Orchestra Autumn 2011 concert, St Nicolas' Church, Newbury, 7.45pm. The repertoire for this concert is Dvorak's ever-popular New World' Symphony (No. 9) and Sibelius' dramatic Violin Concerto. The NSO is conducted by John Traill, a promising young conductor from the Oxford University Faculty of Music, and for this concert the soloist is Edmund Jones, leader of the orchestra, performing in celebration of his 70th birthday and 50 years making music.
