Saturday

Market Square Quilters exhibition, Newbury College, Saturday and Sunday

Over 80 quilts will be on display and there will also be traders’ stalls, a raffle, lucky dip, sales table, refreshments and more. Admission £3.50.

Model Railway Exhibition, St Bartholomews School, 10am-4.30pm

Hosted by Newbury Model Railway Club. 15+ layouts, trade stands and demonstrations. Adults £7, kids £3.50, family £17.50.

Concert in aid of Noreen's Kids, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Hungerford, 6.30pm

Pianist Christopher Burrows will play pieces by Brahms, Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. All proceeds will go towards caring for children and young adults living with AIDS and severe disabilities in one of the poorest parts of Romania. Admission £15.

Bonfire and fireworks, Cottage Inn, Bucklebury, 7.30pm

Family admission £25, single tickets £8, children under 3 free.

Sunday

Newbury Artisan Market, Northbrook Street, 10am-4pm

Newbury Town Council Historical Open Day, Town Hall, 10am-2pm

View the council chamber, the civic staircase, the town hall portraits, and other civic regalia.

Monday

Halloween Party Night, Shaw House, 6.20pm-8.30pm

Halloween trails, apple bobbing and snapping in the grounds, plus indoor crafts, ghostly story time and trick or treating throughout the night. £6 per child.

Tuesday

Sewing sale, The Old Chapel Textile Centre, November 1-November 12

The Green Sewing Shop will take over the exhibition space for two weeks for a grand sale.

Illustrated talk on ‘The Most Flowery Places in the World’, Coronation Hall, Kintbury, 7.30pm

Given by Bob Gibbins. Hosted by the Kintbury Wildlife Group. Admission £3.
