The Kingsclere family of a boy who died in a garden pond accident three years ago, will officially launch a trust fund in his memory today at a family fun day.
Marie Lawrence, the mother of three-year-old Rodney, of Union Lane, said the aim of the Rodney Lawrence Trust was to support children of the village and from the surrounding local area.
During the day, which runs from 12pm until 5pm, there will be a licensed bar, a barbecue, train rides, clown workshops, a jungle bus, laser dome, a gigantic slide, an jungle assault course and a bungee run.
Newbury’s tenth annual real ale festival is being held at Northcroft Field today.
There will be more than 200 ales, ciders, perries and wines on offer as well as performances from bands including The Brightsparks, Audience-Audio and Young Lust.
It is on from 12pm onwards.
Silchester will also be hosting its annual beer festival in the village hall from 4pm until late.
For sports fans, Newbury Stags take on Drifters in rugby at Monks Lane and Hungerford take on Cove in the FA Cup at Bulpit Lane.
