NORTHCROFT Park in Newbury hosts an outdoor event, Furious Folly.
It’s described as ‘art, war and insanity on a grand scale.’ In Furious Folly, Mark Anderson leads a team of artists that, in the spirit of the Dadaists, attempt to respond to the inconceivable madness of the First World War. Taking place, as night falls, in the no-mans land between the two sides, the audience are immersed within an open-air collage of sound, kinetic devices, pyrotechnics and performance.
Anderson draws on the anti-war sentiment of the Dadaist movement of the early 20th century. The performance includes flashing lights and given the subject matter of war it is NOT recommended that you bring children under the age of 12.
For further guidance please contact the Corn Exchange. Furious Folly is part of the Corn Exchange's Free Outdoor Arts Programme, supported by Greenham Common Trust and Arts Council England. For further details see www.cornexchangenew.co.uk
