The main event is at the Newbury Racecourse with the annual Armed Forces Day marching into the town to launch this year’s Poppy Appeal for Berkshire and the Vale of the White Horse.
An array of military-themed entertainment will be on offer culminating in a spectacular parachute display and performances from the 7 Rifles Waterloo Band. A seven-card race will follow the annual event at the renowned race track.
Tickets are priced from £18 and gates open at 11am with the first race of the day at 1.50pm until 5.10pm.
Car enthusiast club West Berkshire Cruisers will also be at The Starting Gate Pub in Speen from 2pm to raise funds for charity Help for Heroes.
There will be modified cars, a raffle and a chance for car owners to win prizes at the charity day which is priced at £1 per entrant, with kids and OAPs getting in for free.
For the gastrophiles looking to indulge in some pre-Christmas festive food, Sheepdrove Organic Farm is hosting a mini festive food market to include a two course carvery and farm tractor and trailer tour to see their Christmas birds in all their splendour.
The farm in Lambourne on Sheepdrove Road is pricing the day at £20 per person to include the farm tour, nibbles, lunch and mulled wine, starting at 10am until 4pm.
For an off-beat and free day out Rob from Opticron will be at the Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre from 10.30 until 4pm to give expert advice on binoculars, telescopes and accessories for the ocular enthusiasts amongst us.
