What's on Today (Saturday)

Father Christmas makes his annual appearance at Newbury Library this afternoon to offer children (and adults) a story time with festive treats from 2.30pm and a craft session at 3.30pm showing how to make your own Christmas stocking.
For those feeling particularly festive the theme is “Christmas Costumes” with visitors encouraged to don their own Christmas garb to enter the lucky dip prize and to have your photo taken for the library’s Christmas display.
Englefield Farm are also in the mood for Christmas crafts, and are hosting a Go Wild: Crafty Christmas day this afternoon inviting families to create their own festive lantern and learn how to make some eco-friendly Christmas decorations using natural and recycled materials.
The session is run by field teacher and wildlife conservationist Becca Flintham with refreshments included. The event is suitable for children aged 5-14 years and participating families are asked to bring a clean jam jar and plastic milk container with a lid.
The day costs £5 per family (maximum of four people) and runs between 10am until 3pm. More details can be found here:

For those fancying a break from all of the Christmas festivities a production of classic ballet Swan Lake will be performed by the Join Ballet Theatre UK at the Arlington Arts Centre at Snelsmore Common.
Tickets costs £17 for the 2.30pm performance and further details can be found at:

And don’t forget the Christmas market is still in Newbury near St Nicolas’ Church for anyone looking at getting some last minute crafts before Christmas Day.
