The new play facility is situated next to the existing playground at Blossom’s Field and funding towards the scheme included monies raised by a local community group.
The total cost was £69,000 and the installation has been completed by play company HAGS/SMP.
The Mayor of Newbury, Anthony Pick, will officially open the playground at 10:30am.
An Epiphany concert will also be held today at St Mary's Church, Hampstead Norreys with the Newbury InCantanta Ladies' Choir performing 'Britten's Ceremony of Carols'.
The concert starts at 3.30pm. Tickets are available on the door priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.
West Berkshire Ramblers will also be setting off once again. This time for an 11.5 mile walk to Doles Copse and Upper Wyke.
Meet at the St Mary Bourne sports ground, grid reference: SU 421503 at 9.30am.
Sunday's forecast is predicted to be dry and around 7 degrees centigrade but rain is set to fall around 6pm until midnight.
