What's on today (Sunday)

NEWTOWN Common working party meets on Sunday morning, 10am to 12.30pm, to work off Christmas calories and keep the common tidy.
Follow the signs from Jonathan Hill car park south along the path parallel with the road to Burghclere. Please take your own loppers, saws etc and gloves, but no power tools.
Free hot drinks and buns are provided.

WEST Berkshire Ramblers hold their weekend walk. Meet up in the car park in Fannys Lane, Upper Bucklebury, at 9.30am for a nine to five-mile walk to Ashmore Green and Hermitage, stopping for a pub lunch or picnic.

NEWBURY District Ornithological Club hold a jaunt, joining the RSPB Poole Harbour Bird Boat. Leaves Poole Quay at 10.30am.

NEW Year Art and Craft Exhibition to raise money for charity and towards a new sports pavilion for Shalbourne.
At: Shalbourne Village Hall, 2.30pm to 5pm. Organiser Tamzin Howard is hoping artists of any age will exhibit their paintings/sculptures/photographs and drawings. (10 per cent commission on sales).
Entrance fee for adults is £2.50; £1.50 for children.
