Sunday will be filled

Thatcham's Old Bluecoat School will be holding its first tea and cake concert of the year today.

The Dell String Quartet consists of violinists Helen Page and Hamish Overend, viola player Rowena Overend and cellist Claire Haines.

The Newbury-based quartet plays a wide repertoire at various functions and concerts in the local area and beyond.

Their programme on February 7 will include works by Purcell, Bach, Mozart, Dvorak and Jenkins.

Arrive early at the Old Bluecoat School for refreshment before the concert, which starts at 4pm.

Tickets are available from Newbury Building Society in Thatcham High Street or on the door.

They are priced at £10 per adult, £5 for school-aged children and students.

Or hear a blend of 19th and 21st centruy sounds at Revolve and Rotate held at Shaw House, 7pm.

Folk musician and composer Luke Daniels, takes a Victorian polyphon (a 4ft-high music box) adds some 21st-century technology and accompanies it with guitar and melodeon.
