Wiltshire Police Force recruiting for Special Constables
The force says it is committed to making Wiltshire the safest county in the country, and in order to do this need a strong, vibrant and motivated Special Constabulary.
“There are many exciting opportunities for Specials and work is currently underway to provide specialist opportunities, after training, such as working within our Roads Policing Unit.”
The force statement adds: “Diversity is key to the success of the Special Constabulary and people from all walks of life are encouraged to apply.
"There are currently students, farmers, parents with young children, retail managers and accountants, whom all balance their commitment to the Force with their other employer and family commitments in order to gain valuable skills of policing and managing community relations.
“Being a Special Constable is rewarding, challenging and fun. It is a wonderfully positive way of contributing to your community. Wiltshire Police are continuing to recruit for more Special Constables and over the next few weeks, a number of awareness events have been arranged.”
The recruitment process is rigorous and not everyone is cut out for the role. However, successful applicants will receive full training.
