Winchcombe school is 'topping out'

A milestone is reached today (Monday) following work to re-model and rebuild new parts of the Newbury school

THE topping out ceremony at The Winchcombe School, Newbury will take place on Monday (9).

Work started in April to re-model, refurbish and build new parts of the Maple Crescent school.

The works will create a more streamlined layout and provide a new learning 'hub' which will include a specialist language unit.

Existing classrooms are also being refurbished.

Once the new build and refurbishment elements of the project are complete the redundant buildings (the existing infants section) of the school will be demolished and the external landscaping works will begin.

It is envisaged that this final phase will begin by spring 2012.
