Wind weather warning issued for West Berkshire as Storm Franklin approaches

The worst of Storm Eunice may be over, but there is still more wet and windy weather to come as the country prepares for yet another storm.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering much of England and Wales from 12pm tomorrow (Sunday) until 3pm on Monday as Storm Franklin bears down.

Periods of strong wind are expected, including in West Berkshire and North Hampshire, which the Met Office said may cause some disruption.

Some delays to road, rail and ferry transport are likely, and delays or restrictions for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also likely.

Power outages are possible, and efforts to restore power to areas which have had interrupted supply in the wake of Storm Eunice are likely to be hampered.

The warning comes just a day after Storm Eunice which battered the country, leaving four people dead and millions without power.

In West Berkshire, many schools were closed, while fallen trees blocked roads across the district.

There were power outages reported in several places, with it only being returned in some areas this morning.
