20 artists/makers display their wares at festive shopping event at The Base Greenham
THE Base at Greenham will transform their Gallery and workshop space into a festive grotto filled with 20 artists and craft makers for Saturday’s Winter Craft Fair (10am-4pm).
Along with stalls to brow\se featuring a wide variety of arts and crafts, including silver jewellery, homeware, 2D art, ceramics and more, the eight Resident Artists at The Base will be in their studios talking to visitors about their work and their processes.
The festive shopping event is an opportunity to find unique handmade gifts while supporting a local maker. In the spirit of goodwill, all proceeds made on the door will be raising funds for The Base charity with ‘pay-what-you-can’ entry tickets and a suggested donation of between £1.50 - £10.
Stephanie Johnson, Gallery Manager at The Base said ‘Since The Base officially became a charity, we have been working hard to build relationships with trusts and foundations with some wonderful successes. But we know our hugely supportive audience appreciate the work we do, such as enabling hundreds of local schoolchildren to see high-quality touring exhibitions, and this is the perfect opportunity for them to show that support via their donation on the door.”
Popular on-site café, Honesty at The Base, will be offering a feast for both smell and taste with warm mulled wine alongside their delicious range of hot drinks and snacks.
