Witnesses sought after car travels down M4 embankment
The incident happened on the westbound carriageway between junctions 12 (Theale) and 13 (Chieveley) at about 8.15pm.
A silver Mini Cooper left the carriageway and went down the embankment at the side of the motorway.
The occupants of the car, a man and a woman in their twenties, were taken to the JR2 in Oxford with serious injuries where they remain in a serious condition.
Sgt Mike Bettington, from the Three Mile Cross Roads Policing Base, is keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the vehicle driving along the M4 prior to the incident.
