Witnesses sought following Hambridge Road collision
At around 5am on Saturday (3), a red Alfa Romeo collided with a green Ford Mondeo in Hambridge Road and failed to stop.
The Ford Mondeo’s rear axle was severely damaged resulting in a fuel leak and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to safely clean the road surface.
Pc Dave Renfrew, of Newbury police station, said: “The Alfa Romeo failed to stop at the incident and was last seen heading in the direction of Newbury town centre.
“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the Alfa Romeo driving off or anyone who knows of an Alfa Romeo with heavy front end damage, to contact police.”
No one was injured in the collision.
